I have successfully represented both landlords and tenants in eviction actions. My billing for such cases is on a time plus filing fee basis. Many eviction matters are resolved in one or two court appearances, which helps keep costs down. Where a commercial lease is involved, more time and expense may be required. Also keep in mind that on a typical day there are hundreds of eviction suits being heard in Cook County, so court calls can run to one to two hours, but typically, no more than 90 minutes will be sufficient.
I can usually give you a fairly accurate estimate of the total cost once I have a chance to evaluate the issues.
